The system comprises an upgrading server, a multi-machine server, a switch and network devices. The upgrading server is used for storing an upgrading file and broadcasting upgrading notification information in a local area network. The multi-machine server is used for distinguishing different network devices. The switch is used for connecting with at least one network device. The network devices are used for receiving the upgrading notification information sent from the upgrading server in a system guiding phase of the network device, acquiring the upgrading file according to the upgrading notification information and then upgrading. Through adoption of the system and the method for automatically upgrading network devices in batch in the factory, the broadcast upgrading notification information comprises server information, so that it is not necessary to reconfigure all network devices when the upgrading server is changed; and the automatic upgrading function is realized in BOOT in booting, and it is not necessary to request upgrading after network devices are booted completely, so that working efficiency of the factory is improved.
