A method for calibrating the indication error of an internal groove caliper comprises the following steps: (1) a set of fifth-class gauge blocks and a gauge block accessory form an internal dimension to perform calibration, the combined width of internal measurement claws of an internal groove caliper is calibrated first, and then, the indication error of the internal measurement claws is checked, wherein the measurement surface of the internal dimension should contact the gauge block accessory; (2) calibration point distribution is carried out, not less than three points in uniform distribution are needed for an internal groove caliper of which the measurement range is within 300mm, and not less than six points in uniform distribution are needed for an internal groove caliper of which the measurement range is beyond 300mm, the indication error should be calibrated both in the tightened and loosened states of a screw, and the contact between the measurement surface of the internal groove caliper and the surface of the gauge block accessory should slide normally; and (3) the algebraic difference between the measured value and the nominal value of the gauge blocks is the indication error of internal dimension measurement.
