Abstract

The method comprises following steps of when it is detected that the terminal dials an alarming phone number, building connection with an appointed WiFi access point adjacent to the terminal; sending a position information obtaining request command to the appointed WiFi access point, thus enabling the appointed WiFi access point to return position codes stored in the appointed WiFi access point to the terminal according to the position information obtaining request command, wherein the position codes are used for expressing the geographic position of appointed WiFi access point; and sending an alarming message carrying the position codes, thus enabling a remote host to obtain the geographic position which is in a remote server and corresponds to the position codes. According to the method and the device, on the basis of a WiFi communication mode, the terminal can automatically obtain and report the real time geographic position of the terminal to the remote host; and the accuracy and timeliness of the alarming message are ensured.
