Abstract

The embodiment of the disclosure provides a group generation method and apparatus. The method comprises: a new group building instruction sent out by a user is received and a new group is built based on the new group building instruction; an account selected by the user is used as a group member and is added into the new group; a skip symbol is generated for the selected account, wherein the skip symbol is used for pointing to an account list that is a list of other accounts associated with the selected account; according to the clicking on the skip symbol by the user, skipping to the account list is carried out; and on the basis of selection by the user in the account list, a new account is added into the new group continuously. According to the embodiment of the disclosure, a group is generated based on a group and thus the user can skip to the list of other accounts associated with the selected member, wherein the list can be another group which the member belongs to. Therefore, the user can select the member rapidly and the new group building time is saved substantially; and an objective of convenient and rapid group building is achieved.
