The method comprises the following steps that when the air conditioner operates in a refrigeration mode, the frequency interval where the current operating frequency of a compressor is in the air conditioner is confirmed; a corresponding temperature compensation value of the frequency interval is obtained; the evaporating temperature of the air conditioner is calculated according to the temperature measured by a temperature sensor under the current operating frequency and the obtained temperature compensation value; and the temperature sensor is installed at an evaporator loop of the air conditioner. The invention further discloses a detecting system for the evaporating temperature of the air conditioner. According to the detecting method and the detecting system for the evaporating temperature of the air conditioner, the accuracy of the evaporating temperature detection of the air conditioner is improved.
