Abstract

The catalyst is a compound formed by doping Ni-Al-LDH in C3N4, and the mass ratio of Ni-Al-LDH to C3N4 in the compound is 1:(1.5-19). The preparation method of the catalyst comprises the following steps: mixing and grinding the Ni-Al-LDH and C3N4 according to the mass ratio of 1:(1.5-19) until the two materials are powdery; adding the ground mixed powder into a solvent to form a suspension; centrifuging the suspension to obtain an isolate; and drying the isolate to obtain the catalyst. The method for producing hydrogen by adopting the catalyst comprises the following steps: placing the catalyst into a reaction liquid containing water and methanol; and irradiating the reaction liquid by adopting light with wavelength of 0nm-780nm, to generate hydrogen. The catalyst and a preparation method thereof, and the method for producing hydrogen through photocatalytic decomposition have the advantage that the speed of producing hydrogen through photocatalytic decomposition is fast.
