Benefits of technology

This patented technology allows for precise measurement over an entire area with no human interference while still being able to rotate it around at different angles or directions.

Problems solved by technology

This technical problem addressed by this patented describes how current methods for measuring 3D coordinate values require manual rotation of markers or use limited areas where measurements may occur due to limitations like lack of light reflection caused by uneven surfaces between marker locations.

Embodiment Construction

[0021] The photogrammetric marker of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0022] refer to Figure 1 to Figure 3 , in some embodiments of the present invention, a photogrammetric marker includes a body 1 . The overall profile of the body 1 is spherical. That is, at least a part of the outer surface of the body 1 (for example, an outer surface other than a reflective surface described below, etc.) is a part of a spherical surface. This spherical surface has a center S.

[0023] In some embodiments of the present invention, the body 1 can be made of any suitable material. For example, in some embodiments, the body 1 can be made of stainless steel.

[0024] The main body 1 may be provided with at least two reflective areas, and when the photogrammetry mark is manufactured, the at least two reflective areas and the center S of the sphere of the main body 1 have a predetermined spatial positional relationship. Th...

Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a photogrammetric marker and a manufacturing method thereof. The photogrammetric marker comprises a spherical body; at least two reflection areas are arranged on the spherical body; and the at least two reflection areas and the centre of a sphere are in a pre-determined spatial relationship, so when the photogrammetric marker is located in certain space, the position of the centre of the sphere in the space can be calculated according to the positions of the at least two reflection areas and the pre-determined spatial relationship. The photogrammetric marker provided by the invention enables a photogrammetric camera to carry out accurate measurement on the photogrammetric marker in a large range, or even in a 360-DEG range, during imaging at different positions, and manual rotation of the photogrammetric marker is not needed, so efficiency is substantially improved.
