The invention provides an information backup method. The method is applied to a TCP (transmission control protocol) proxy equipment group. The TCP proxy equipment group comprises main equipment and standby equipment. The method comprises steps as follows: after the TCP proxy equipment group is started, proxy information stored by the main equipment saved during TCP proxy service execution by the main equipment is synchronized to the standby equipment; during operation of the TCP proxy equipment group, data messages received by the main equipment are synchronized to the standby equipment in real time; the standby equipment decapsulates the data messages to acquire proxy information contained in the data messages. With the application of the embodiment, the data messages received by the main equipment are synchronized to the standby equipment, and time consumption caused when the main equipment decapsulates the proxy information from the data message before backup is avoided.
