A non security region and a security region isolated from each other are arranged in the mobile terminal; and the security region accesses a security chip. The method comprises the steps of collecting target fingerprint data according to a fingerprint verification request of an application in the non security region; switching the non security region to the security region; extracting a first fingerprint template fragment from the security region, and sending the first fingerprint template fragment and the target fingerprint data to the security chip; and extracting a second fingerprint template fragment from the security chip, and performing fingerprint verification on the target fingerprint data according to the first fingerprint template fragment and the second fingerprint template fragment, wherein the first fingerprint template fragment and the second fingerprint template fragment belong to the same fingerprint template data.
