Abstract

The invention relates to an automatic configuration method and system of an ONT, and belongs to the field of communication technologies. The method comprises that the ONT is online and initiates a trap message; the trap message is parsed to obtain an mac address of the terminal; the mac address as a secret key is used to carry out authentication; after that authentication passes, port vlan configuration is issued to the terminal; after that ports of the terminal are configured with vlan, a DHCP request is initiated, and management configuration information including management IP address, mask, gateway and DNS of the terminal is obtained; and the terminal initiates a service configuration request, and a service configuration template is obtained. The method and system can realize automatic ONT configuration in which management operations are simplified and the management efficiency is improved.
