Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a message forwarding method and apparatus, and relates to the technical field of network communication. The message forwarding method and apparatus are applied to a first edge device in an Ethernet virtual private network EVPN. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a first message, wherein the first message carries a first destination address; judging whether a forwarding table entry corresponding to the first destination address exists; if so, forwarding the first message according to the forwarding table entry corresponding to the first destination address; and otherwise, sending the first message to a second edge device, so that the second edge device forwards the first message according to the first destination address, wherein both of the first edge device and the second edge device store matched Ethernet virtual private network EVPN network identifiers.
