Abstract

Provided is a superconducting magnet field reducing circuit and method. The field reducing circuit comprises a magnet coil including a plurality of serially connected superconducting coils; low temperature switches parallelly connected with the two ends of a magnet coil; an energy unloading device connected with the two ends of the magnet coil in parallel, wherein the threshold voltage conducted by the energy unloading device is lower than the induction voltage generated by the magnet coil; and a monitoring unit for monitoring whether field reduction is already finished for the superconducting magnet. The superconducting magnet field reducing circuit and method can rapidly and effectively finish the field reduction of the superconducting magnet under the condition that no magnet coil quench is caused.
