According to a method, the automatic storage and picking device comprises a horizontal moving device, a vertical moving device, a storage box and a control module. The horizontal moving device comprises a horizontal driving motor, a horizontal slide rail, a horizontal transmission device and a horizontal slide block. The vertical moving device comprises a vertical driving motor, a vertical guide rail, a vertical transmission device and a vertical slide block which is provided with a hook. The horizontal slide rail and the vertical slide block are fixedly connected through a connecting body. The storage box comprises a storage chamber and a drawer frame matched with the storage chamber. The drawer frame is a cuboid with the upper bottom face and the lower bottom face being hollow and is provided with a picking ring and a storage ring. The control module is used for controlling the horizontal driving motor and the vertical driving motor to drive the hook on the vertical slide block to hook the picking ring or the storage ring so as to move the drawer frame, and article storage and taking out are achieved.
