The method comprises the following steps of giving a far field head-related transfer function HRTFfar, wherein a distance between a sound source and a head center is D; determining a head radius a and a distance d between a near field target sound image on the mid vertical plane and the head center; computing a correction angle theta of a right ear R according to a formula; extracting a far field HRTFfar(theta, R) as an HRTF of the right ear of the near field target sound image; extracting a far field HRTFfar(-theta, L) as an HRTF of a left ear of the near field target sound image according to the bilateral symmetry of the mid vertical plane; and carrying out convolution on the HRTFs of the two ears of the near field target sound image and an input sound signal in order to realize 3D virtual playback of the near field sound image on the mid vertical plan based on a headset.
