Abstract

The application aims at providing a method and device for measuring the size of an object. Compared with the prior art, the method is characterized in that a real-time image is obtained by a camera and a standard reference object is determined from the real-time image; a virtual ruler corresponding to the standard reference object is determined and the virtual ruler is displayed at the real-time image in a superposition manner, wherein the virtual ruler moves with movement of the standard reference object; and when standard reference object is aligned at a to-be-measured object, the size of the to-be-measured object is determined by the virtual ruler. Therefore, measurement can be carried out by using user equipment like a smart phone carried by a user, so that a problem of inconvenient carrying of a real ruler is solved; and the restriction of the screen size of the user equipment is eliminated so that the user uses the equipment conveniently and the user experience is improved.
