Abstract

The invention discloses a method and device for cell selection and relates to the technical field of wireless communication, for the purposes of enabling user equipment to be more accurately connected with a cell capable of providing a service so as to complete a service process when the user equipment initiates the service or performs handover, reducing the signaling overhead load of a network side and improving user experience. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining service types of cell services and signal quality corresponding to cells; and selecting at least one cell capable of providing the service for the user equipment according to the service types of the cell services and the signal quality corresponding to the cells, and the service type of the service initiated by the user equipment.
