Abstract

The invention provides an electro-wetting color display device based on the three-primary-color time blending method. The display device comprises three sets of electro-wetting structures of differentprimary colors arranged in parallel or in a stacked mode. Each electro-wetting structure sequentially comprises a first transparent electrode layer, a water layer, an oil film layer, a hydrophobic material layer and a second transparent electrode layer from bottom to top. The three sets of electro-wetting structures share the same substrate arranged above the electro-wetting structures. A capillary channel is arranged in each of the water layer and the oil film layer of each electro-wetting structure, wherein the lower end of the capillary channel extends into the oil film layer, and the upper end of the capillary channel penetrates through the second transparent electrode layer and the substrate. After the upper end of the capillary channel forms a net-shaped or plane-laid display layerabove the substrate, the capillary channel extends into the water layer. The display layers of the three sets of electro-wetting structures are overlapped to form a color display surface. According tothe invention, the capillary channel is applied. Under the action of the hydrophilic force, the color display of the transparent pipeline on the outer side of each electro-wetting structure is controlled.
