Embodiment Construction

[0062] The embodiments set forth below present information to enable one skilled in the art to practice the embodiments and show the best mode of practicing the embodiments. Upon reading the following description in light of the accompanying drawing figures, those skilled in the art will understand the concepts of the disclosure and will recognize applications of these concepts not particularly addressed herein. It should be understood that these concepts and applications fall within the scope of the disclosure and the appended claims.

[0063] Many mobile devices (eg, smartphones, etc.) are or will be equipped with multiple radio transceivers in order to access various networks. For example, a UE may be equipped with a 3GPP LTE transceiver, an IEEE 802.11 (ie, WiFi) transceiver, a Bluetooth transceiver, and a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver. Radio transceivers in the same UE are spatially close to each other (ie, co-located). Thus, transmissions associate...

Abstract

The present disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for signaling in-device coexistence (IDC) issues in uplink (UL) carrier aggregation (CA). Embodiments of a method in a user equipment (UE) communicating with an evolved Node B (eNB) are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method in the UE comprises sending an IDC indication including information of the problematic UL CA combination to the eNB. In this way, the eNB is provided with an indication from which the eNB can infer which frequencies need to be avoided for UL CA.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to uplink (UL) carrier aggregation (CA), and in particular signaling of problematic UL CA combinations such as UL CA combinations that suffer or are expected to suffer from in-device coexistence (IDC) issues. Background technique [0002] In-Device Coexistence (IDC) [0003] More mobile devices, smart phones, etc. are equipped or will be equipped with multiple radio transceivers in order to access various networks. For example, a user equipment (UE) may be equipped with a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) transceiver, an IEEE 802.11 (i.e., WiFi) transceiver, a Bluetooth transceiver, and a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver . Radio transceivers in the same UE are spatially close to each other (ie, co-located). Thus, transmissions associated with the transmitter of one radio transceiver may interfere with the receiver of another radio transceiver when radio transceivers w...
