Plants transformed with one or more genes derived from the Ri plasmid of Agrobacterium rhizogenes, or progeny of such plants by infection with Agrobacterium rhizogenes containing the Ri plasmid, are described in Its genome contains 1 to 5 copies of the one or more genes derived from the Ri plasmid.
