Abstract

A tracheostoma device holder (100) for holding a tracheostoma device superimposed of a tracheostoma of a person is provided. The tracheostoma device holder (100) comprises a flexible skirt (101) for attachment over a tracheostoma via a skin adhesive proximal side thereof, said skirt (101) being provided with a through hole (102); a tubular tracheostoma device fitting (103), arranged circumferentially of the through hole (102), said tubular tracheostoma device fitting (103) extending distally from the distal side of the skirt (101); wherein the skirt (101) having at least two sheets, in form ofa distal end sheet (104) comprising a skin adhesive hydrogel or hydrocolloid, and a support sheet (105) proximally of said distal end sheet, said support sheet (105) comprising polyurethane.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to tracheostomy assist device holders. More specifically, the present invention relates to a tracheostomy aid holder comprising a skirt for attachment to a tracheostomy via the proximal side of the skirt, said The skirt is provided with a through hole having a tubular tracheostomy device fitting extending distally from the skirt around said through hole. Background technique [0002] A tracheostomy is a surgical procedure in which an opening is made through the front surface of the neck into the windpipe. This opening is called a tracheostomy, and a tracheostomy tube may be placed to extend between the tracheostomy and the windpipe. A tracheostomy is performed, for example, when there is a malfunction of the nervous system or the respiratory tract, such as from an injury or disorder, which dysfunction results in an inability to obtain sufficient air. A tracheostomy may also result when the lung capacity is poo...
