The human body model approximation method comprises the following steps of: (1) inputting a three-dimensional human bodymodel; (2) extracting feature lines of the three-dimensional human body model input in the step (1); (3) approximating each feature lines generated in the step (2) by using a plurality of circles; (4)generating balls according to the circles generated in the step (3), wherein the balls on adjacent feature lines are matched in pairs to generate capsules; and (5) automatically adjusting sizes of the balls and the capsules to ensure that the human body model is completely approximate to the internal part of a human body. According to the method, feature lines of human bodies are extracted, three-dimensional approximation problems are converted into two-dimensional approximation problems, and each feature line is approximated by a plurality of circles by using a L1oyd clustering algorithm, sothat more tight and symmetrical human body model approximation bodies can be rapidly obtained.
