The system comprises CB equipment and at least one PE equipment; the method comrpises the following steps: searching forwarding capacity information of target PE equipment corresponding to a newly configured forwarding entry when the CB equipment acquires the newly configured forwarding entry, judging whether the PE equipment has the forwarding capacity of the newly configured forwarding entry, if the PE equipment has the forwarding capacity of the newly configured forwarding entry, acquiring the amountof the currently idle hardware forwarding resource in the target PE equipment; and judging whether the target PE equipment has enough hardware forwarding resource to store the newly configured forwarding entry; if the target PE equipment has enough hardware forwarding resource to store the newly configured forwarding entry, issuing the newly configured forwarding entry to the target PE equipment.Therefore, the failed configuration of the entry issued to the PE equipment can be avoided under the condition of sufficiently utilizing the hardware forwarding resources on the CB equipment and the PE equipment.
