Abstract

The invention relates to a registration method and apparatus for group members. The method comprises: identifiers of a plurality of key servers KS stored in group members (GM) are obtained; accordingto the identifier of each KS, at least one first KS with a link to the GM in an available UP state is determined; on the basis of the identifier of each first KS, a registration load value representing the registration load situation of the first KS is obtained; according to the registration load value of each first KS, at least one second KS for registration of the GM is determined; and application registration is initiated to the second KS based on the identifier of each second KS. According to the registration method and apparatus, some KSs with faults or KS with blocked intermediate devicelinks are eliminated by the GM and the KSs that are suitable for registration are selected again among available KSs based on the registration load values of the KSs. Therefore, the GM registration time is shortened and GM registration efficiency is improved, so that the flow needing protection is encrypted and decrypted timely and thus the potential safety hazard is eliminated.
