Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a packet forwarding method and network equipment. The packet forwarding method is applied to the network equipment including a multi-core processor and a forwarding chip, and comprises the following steps: transmitting a packet to the multi-core processor by the forwarding chip through a first uplink channel; after receiving the packet by the multi-core processor, performing hash calculation on quintuple information of the packet, and determining a first downlink channel corresponding to the quintuple information; and transmitting the processed packet to the forwarding chip by the multi-core processor through the first downlink channel.
