Abstract

An electronic mail (email) system generates an email user interface display, with a timeslot actuator, for composing an email message. Actuation of the timeslot actuator is detected and the email system accesses available timeslots from a calendar system corresponding to the user. User selectable display elements, corresponding to each available timeslot, are displayed on the email user interfacedisplay, along with message content. When a user selectable display element corresponding to an available timeslot is selected, the emailmessage content is populated with a selectable timeslot element, corresponding to the available timeslot, that can be sent to recipients in the email message.

Background technique [0001] Computing systems are currently widely used. Some such computing systems include email systems. Others include calendar or scheduling systems. [0002] Users of such systems often use e-mail systems to communicate, and use calendar or scheduling systems to set up meetings with each other or arrange phone calls. In addition, it is not uncommon for users to be blocked from accessing other users' schedules. Therefore, in order to schedule meetings with each other, users often use email messages to suggest possible meeting dates and times, and then use separate calendars or scheduling systems to generate schedule events such as meeting invitations.
