Embodiment Construction

[0044] The parts corresponding to each other are in the Figure 1 to Figure 7 have the same reference numerals. The details of the embodiments set forth in detail below may also be employed as such to form the invention or as part of the subject-matter of the invention.

[0045] Figure 1 to Figure 5 An exemplary embodiment of an acoustic probe 1 is shown, which is intended to be inserted into the measuring tube of a flow meter for acoustically measuring the flow of a medium. The measuring tube can be, for example, a fitting housing. The sonic probe 1 is distinguished by its simple assembly, which advantageously enables an extremely installation-friendly, in particular fully automated, production process. In this way, large batches of acoustic probes 1 can be produced at lower costs and with shorter production times.

[0046] The sonotrode 1 has a longitudinal axis 2 . In one possible embodiment, the sonotrode 1 is formed substantially rotationally symmetrically with resp...

Abstract

The invention relates to an acoustic probe (1) for acoustically measuring a medium flow in a measuring tube of a flow meter. The acoustic probe comprises: a cylinder portion (3) made of a metal cylinder material, the cylinder portion having a cylinder side wall (4), a sound-permeable cylinder bottom (5) and a cylinder bottom (5) and an oppositely-arranged cylinder port (6); an electromechanical acoustic conversion element (9) adhered to the inner side of the cylinder bottom (5); and two electrical leads (14) leading from the cylinder port (6), wherein the electrical leads are used for achieving electrical contact of the electromechanical acoustic conversion element (9); a closure member (17) that is inserted into the cylinder portion (3) and closes the cylinder port (6). The closure member(17) has a plastic body (18) and a reinforcing plate (19), wherein the reinforcing plate (19) is at least partially embedded in the plastic body (18).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an acoustic / ultrasonic probe for sound-based measurement of the flow of a medium for installation in a measuring tube of a flow meter. Background technique [0002] Flow meters based on (ultra)sonic measurement technology are known. Pulse-shaped (ultra)sonic signals are generated by means of (ultra)sonic transducers and sent through the medium in and against the flow direction. The difference in the propagation time of the acoustic signal in the two directions of transmission is analyzed to derive the flow rate of the medium. This ultrasound-based flow meter works on the transit time difference principle. [0003] Different designs exist. On the one hand, various devices are known which are actually flow meters and which only determine the flow of the medium. On the other hand, there are also energy meters, for example in the form of calorimeters and cold meters, in which the flow determined according to the above-mentioned...
