Embodiment Construction
[0024] The following disclosure describes the invention in terms of several embodiments directed to methods, systems and apparatus related to the alignment of cup rows on clinical chemistry instruments. Briefly, the technique described here provides a visual marker on the cup window to verify beam position. The lamp mounting bracket provides the position of the beam for photometric analysis. The fixture mounting bracket was utilized to hold the beam gauge in place to provide markings on the cup window. Thus, the methods described herein enhance the results of the IVD system by ensuring that the reaction loop is set at the optimal height to be used with all future cup rows placed on the instrument. For example, the method can be performed during manufacturing to set the height of the reaction ring when building the instrument or in the event that the radial drive motor needs to be replaced in the field.
