Embodiment Construction

[0024] The following disclosure describes the invention in terms of several embodiments directed to methods, systems and apparatus related to the alignment of cup rows on clinical chemistry instruments. Briefly, the technique described here provides a visual marker on the cup window to verify beam position. The lamp mounting bracket provides the position of the beam for photometric analysis. The fixture mounting bracket was utilized to hold the beam gauge in place to provide markings on the cup window. Thus, the methods described herein enhance the results of the IVD system by ensuring that the reaction loop is set at the optimal height to be used with all future cup rows placed on the instrument. For example, the method can be performed during manufacturing to set the height of the reaction ring when building the instrument or in the event that the radial drive motor needs to be replaced in the field.

Abstract

A method for aligning a reaction ring in an analyzer system using a gage vertical reaction ring including at least one end slot includes inserting a beam gauge into an analyzer system operable to hold the beam gauge in contact with a beam gauge included in the analyzer system. in the aperture at the height corresponding to the photometer. The gauge vertical reaction ring is rotated on the reaction ring until the beam gauge engages the end slot to confirm alignment of the reaction ring with the photometer.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Application Serial No. 62 / 365,298, filed July 21, 2016, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present invention generally relates to methods, systems and devices for aligning cup rows on clinical chemistry instruments. The techniques described here can be integrated, for example, into automated in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) systems to ensure optimal cup placement for performing photometric measurements. Background technique [0004] IVDs allow laboratories to assist in the diagnosis of disease based on assays performed on patient fluid samples. IVD includes various types of analytical tests and assays related to the diagnosis and treatment of patients that can be performed by analyzing fluid samples taken from the patient's bodily fluids or abscesses. These assays are typically performed using automated clinical chemi...
