Abstract

In this paper a cloud content state framework is described. In an implementation, the framework is configured to perform operations at a computing device for managing cloud content files on behalf of a cloud storage provider. The framework is operable to manage the state of cloud content files accessible from a plurality of cloud storage services. The framework also utilizes file system representations of cloud content files to manage and output status indicators. The states include at least a set of main states indicating the state of synchronization controlled by the framework. The states may also include custom states associated with cloud storage services defined via interfaces exposed by the framework. In operation, a state associated with the cloud content file is identified in connection with rendering of a user interface having a representation of the cloud content file. A status indicator reflecting the identified status is then presented in the user interface along with the cloud content file representation.
