The method comprises the steps of inputting an image of a to-be-read code; loading a training model, anddetermining geometric positioning feature information of the DM code according to the training model; according to the geometric positioning feature information of the DM code, a geometric positioning tool is utilized to roughly position the image of the to-be-read code, and a DM code alternative area is obtained; accurately positioning the DM code alternative region by adopting a straight line fitting method; and filtering out a non-DM code region in the DM code alternative region. The geometric feature positioning method is mainly related to the mode edge information of the DM code, and a mode similar to the mode edge information is difficult to form for the interference of data and an edge area, so that the interference on the positioning is difficult to generate. The DM code positioning method based on geometric positioning is used, the DM code position of the same specification can be detected, the quality requirement for codes is not high, the DM code area with low contrast andnoise interference can be better positioned, and the method is insensitive to interference or partial deletion of the data area, the L mode edge and the clock edge.
