A method and apparatus for realizing global network management based on an SDN, and an electronic device and a storage medium. The method is applied to an SDN controller; the SDN controller belongs to an SDN controller cluster; and each SDN controller in the SDN controller cluster is respectively connected to a distributed database, and is also respectively connected to multiple switches to form a network domain. The network control method comprises: acquiring first topology information between switches in a network domain; acquiring second topology information from a distributed database, wherein the second topology information is topology information between switches in network domains where the other SDN controllers in the SDN controller cluster are located; determining global network topology information according to the first topology information and the second topology information; and based on the global network topology information, controlling each of the switches in the network domain so that same forwards data. Thus, by means of the embodiments of the present application, the scale of network topology is increased, realizing the synchronous update of global topology information, and having a low requirement for the performance of a distributed database.
