Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with updating data aggregation configurations and controlling data aggregation are described. Illustratively, a hierarchy of nodes is generated and displayed in a graphical representation of an energy supply network. Nodes store energy consumption data and are optional to identify where aggregation of energy consumption data is to be performed. A settlement point is created to define an aggregation of energy consumption data based at least on data from a plurality of nodes identified from the hierarchy. The created settlement includes one or more characteristics selected from the database, and an algorithm defining the aggregation to be performed.
