The sub-pixel rendering method is used for driving a plurality of pixel units of a display panel, each pixel unit comprises a plurality of sub-pixels with different colors, and the method comprises the following steps: obtaining sub-pixel arrangement of the display panel; obtaining a rendering unit of the pixel unitand a corresponding adjustment mode according to the sub-pixel arrangement and the position of the pixel unit; and mapping the color component of each image pixel into a gray-scale value of an internal sub-pixel of the pixel unit and gray-scale values of the plurality of compensation sub-pixels according to the adjustment mode.
