Problems solved by technology

A great disadvantage of the cited TESDeT is the high molecular weight, which means that when used equimolarly, significantly larger amounts must be used compared to TESPT

[0086]The compounds of formula (I) are used in equimolar amounts in the rubber mixture. In order to achieve comparable crosslink density, which is critical for 300 modulus, elongation at break and strength, according to KGK(2015), 68(4), 38-45, for two of the ethoxy groups that have been Methyl-substituted compounds (see DMESPT and DMES i BT), metering in a slightly higher amount of sulfur.

[0087] The mixture was produced in a kneader at an internal temperature of 150°C. The sulfur and accelerator are then mixed on rollers at 50°C. To achieve curing, the mixture was heated to 170° C. for 30 minutes in a heatable press.

[0088] These tests show that the compound (I) of the invention from Example A produces significantly more favorable cured product performance characteristics than the comparative compounds (Comparative Examples 1 and 2). This is evident from the dynamic damping at 60° C. (measured as the loss factor tan δ), which is related to the rolling resistance of t...

Abstract

Rubber mixtures containing at least one rubber, at least one filler and at least one compound of the formula wherein R1, R3, R6 and R8 are the same or different and represent methyl or ethyl, R4 and R5 are the same or different and form group or ethyl group, R2 and R7 are the same or different and represent methyl or ethyl group, and x=4, and cured products obtainable therefrom and molded articles containing said cured products. The latter are characterized by high strength and elongation at break, low rolling resistance and good wet grip, as well as low VOC emissions during production.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to rubber mixtures containing sulfur-containing organosilicon compounds and to the use of these organosilicon compounds for the production of these rubber mixtures, to the cured products (vulcanizates) and moldings obtainable from these rubber mixtures, in particular tires , which has low rolling resistance, good wet grip and low emissions of volatile organic components (VOC) during production. Background technique [0002] Sulfur-containing organosilicon compounds which can be used as reinforcing additives in rubber mixtures are known. Thus, DE 2141159, DE 2141160 and DE 2255577 describe organosilanes as reinforcing additives, in particular for silica-containing rubber vulcanizates for tire applications. The structures described in the examples are derived from triethoxysilylpropyl tetrasulfide (TESPT). DE 2035778 discloses reinforcing additives based on organosilanes. In the cited patent applications, all examples are...
