Abstract

The invention discloses hearing loss level calculation. A computer-implemented method for classifying hearing loss based on audiogram data includes: receiving audiogram data of an ear of a subject; inresponse to the audiogram data of more than four audio frequencies, determining a value indicating a maximum hearing loss at any available audio frequency; determining a set of corrected hearing lossvalues of more than four audio frequencies in response to the audiogram data according to a correction algorithm comprising the maximum hearing loss at any available audio frequency to compensate forthe audiogram data for possible severe hearing loss anomaly value data; calculating a single value indicative of hearing loss according to a predetermined averaging algorithm in response to the set of corrected hearing loss values of four or more audio frequencies; determining a hearing loss level from a predetermined list of hearing loss levels in response to the calculated single value; and generating an output indicative of a hearing loss level.
