Abstract

Provided is a data communication device that specifies Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) traffic at high speed in an environment in which a plurality of traffic patterns are mixed. This data communication device comprises a transmission / reception unit, an ABR determination unit, and a system determination unit. The transmission / reception unit transmits / receives data between a terminal and a server. The ABRdetermination unit determines whether a data transmission system from the server to the terminal uses an ABR delivery system. In accordance with the determination result from the ABR determination unit, the system determination unit determines a data transfer system for when reception data from the server is transferred to the terminal. Furthermore, the transmission / reception unit transfers the reception data from the server to the terminal using the data transfer system that was determined by the system determination unit.
