The hinge base is suitable for being fixed with a vehicle body; the cantilever assembly comprises a first cantilever and a second cantilever; the first cantilever is connected with the hinge base; the second cantilever is connected with an engine hood; the locking and releasing mechanism is used for locking and connecting the first cantilever and the second cantilever into a whole; the jacking device and the locking and releasing mechanism are matched in a pressing-against way; the jacking device can relieve a locking state between the first cantilever and the second cantilever; and the jacking device can drive the locking and releasing mechanism to move and drives the second cantilever to rotate around a rotation axis of the second cantilever. The engine hood hinge device provided by the invention is more stable in structure and higher in strength. After receiving a signal, the releasing mechanism can perform releasing instantly, and the rear part of the engine hood is lifted, so that the aim of providing a sufficient collision space so as to improve a pedestrian protection score is achieved.
