Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of optical fiber wireless communication systems, and provides a double-vector millimeter wave generation system and method based on a push-pull modulator, and the method comprises the steps: carrying out the up-conversion (right) and down-conversion (left) of a baseband signal through a signal generation chip, generating a double-frequency independent sideband signal, and enabling the signal to enter a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to generate an analog signal; a laser generates a continuous wave laser, an analog signal is modulated on the laserthrough a push-pull modulator and transmitted to an optical interleaver through an optical fiber, the optical interleaver converts one path of optical signal into two paths of optical signals, and adouble-vector millimeter wave electric signal is generated through beat frequency of a photoelectric detector. Double-vector millimeter wave signals are generated by using an optical single sideband modulation method based on the push-pull modulator, the overall structure of the system is simple, the transmission capacity of the system is greatly improved, signals with different left and right sideband modulation formats can be transmitted, the bandwidth requirement of a transmitting end electronic device can be reduced, and the cost of an optical fiber wireless communication system is effectively reduced.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of optical fiber-wireless (Radio-over-Fiber, ROF) communication systems, and in particular relates to a system and method for generating a two-vector millimeter wave based on a push-pull modulator. Background technique [0002] With the rapid growth of communication capacity and access requirements, the application of radio-optical fiber (ROF) is becoming more and more extensive. Wireless-optical fiber (ROF) combines the characteristics of optical fiber transmission with low loss, high bandwidth, anti-electromagnetic interference and wide-area coverage of wireless communication, and has the advantages of long distance and wide range. The generation of optical vector millimeter waves is an important topic in wireless-fiber optic systems. Previous demonstrations of external modulator-based vector mmWave generation carried only one band of mmWave signals. A previous scheme proposed a 16QAM vector millimeter w...
