The following functional modules are included: an automatic clamping arm clamping enabling control unit, an automatic clamping arm clamping speed selection unit, a clamping arm clamping pressure selection unit, an automatic clamping arm opening degree control unit, an automatic clamping arm clamping and opening state judgment unit and a clamping arm manual operation control unit. By adopting the technical scheme, the control method (or control program) without a position detection encoder for the clamping arm of the profile steel sawing machine is provided for solving the problem that the position detection encoder for a clamping hydraulic cylinder of the clamping arm of the profile steel sawing machine difficultly works stably in a severe environment. According to the method, the opening and clamping positions of a chuck of the clamping arm of the sawing machine are controlled only based on a pressure switch in a clamping hydraulic loop of the clamping arm, so that the operation reliability of the clamping arm of the profile steel sawing machine is greatly improved.
