Abstract

The invention relates to the field of computer vision and the technical field of machine learning, and discloses a method and a system for beautifying an image, which can automatically improve the aesthetic feeling of any image without any additional artificial aesthetic information annotation. The method comprises the following steps: providing a to-be-beautified image; inputting the to-be-beautified image into a neural network, wherein the neural network is a pre-trained deep neural network oriented to visual application; calculating a marginal utility generated by each pixel or superpixel in the image to network output based on an intermediate layer output of the neural network, and determining a significant signal and a noise signal in the image based on the marginal utility; and suppressing the noise signal and/or enhancing the significant signal to obtain a beautified image.
