Abstract

The invention relates to a channelization design optimization method for a parallel flow intersection. The method comprises the steps of: (1) calculating an optimal signal timing period of a signal intersection and a related intersection signal timing scheme based on road geometric parameters, hourly traffic flow and the like; (2) using the propagation law of traffic flow to derive the queue length of traffic flow; (3) calculating an intersection coordination phase difference by combining a traffic flow conflict theory and a signal intersection group green wave coordination control method; (4) calculating a maximum value of a shift transition section; (5) calculating a value range of the shift transition section by considering safe operation requirements of lane changing vehicles; and finally, integrating the value ranges of the step (4) and the step (5), and obtaining an intersection to obtain the value range of the parallel flow intersection shift transition section.
