The air conditioner indoor unit comprises a unit shell, a washing device, a negative ion device and a control unit; the unit shell is provided with a frame and a front decoration plate detachably connected to the front side of the frame, and the washing device and the negative ion device are arranged in the frame; when the front decoration plate is located at the installation position connected with the frame, the front decoration plate shields the washing device and at least part of the negative ion device; the negative ion device is arranged at the top end of the washing device and used for generating negative ions under the action of high-voltage current, and the negative ions can make contact with washing liquid in the washing device and form water ions; a first detection piece is arranged on the front side of the frame and is in communication connection with the control unit; the first detection piece is used for detecting the position of the front decoration plate; and the control unit is used for controlling the negative ion device to be powered off when it is determined that the front decoration plate leaves the installation position according to the detection result of the first detection piece.
