The invention discloses a rail transit station passenger flow early warning system and method, and the system comprises a line network OD analysis subsystem which can collect the whole network OD data of a line network ACC system, and calculates the in-out station passenger flow data of a whole network station, so as to generate the in-out station passenger flow historical data; the station passenger flow data acquisition subsystem can acquire in-out real-time passenger flow data of a station AFC system and real-time passenger flow density data of each area of a station platform of a station IVA system in real time; and the station passenger flow prediction and early warning subsystem can monitor the passenger flow density data of each area of the station platform and the load factor data of each compartment of the train entering the station in real time, and calculates the number of passengers detained in the station in the subsequent time period by combining the historical data of the passenger flow entering and exiting the station so as to generate corresponding station passenger flow early warning information.
