Problems solved by technology

A person with a breathing disorder may have a sleep disorder, but systems designed to alleviate the physical symptoms of a breathing disorder do not address problems beyond the symptoms of the disorder itself that would allow a person to sleep soundly

Embodiment Construction

[0025] figure 1An environment for mitigating the effects of noise from ventilator equipment, systems, and / or any components thereof (eg, masks, motors, tanks, pumps, etc.) in accordance with some embodiments of the present invention is presented. The environment is a bedroom environment that includes a respirator user 104 and a bed partner 102 lying in bed, as well as a mattress 136 , pillows 138 a and 138 b , and a headboard 134 . Adjacent to the bed are two nightstands 132a and 132b, and a lamp 130 on the nightstand 132b. The respirator user 104 wears a user interface (eg, mask 100 ) that is connected to the respirator or ventilator device 108 via an air circuit or conduit (eg, tube or tubing 106 ). Mask 100 , air circuit or tubing 106 , and respirator 108 may be collectively referred to as breathing system 10 . In some embodiments, the breathing system 10 includes a humidification box 109 that can be used to store water and create humidity in the air supplied to the respi...

Abstract

A system includes a respirator device, a mask, a microphone, a speaker, and a control system. The respirator apparatus is configured to supply pressurized air. The mask is coupled to the respirator device and configured to engage the user during sleep to assist in directing the supplied pressurized air to the user. The microphone is configured to generate audio data. The speaker is configured to emit sound. The control system is configured to analyze the audio data to determine if noise associated with leakage of air from the mask is occurring. In response to (i) the analysis resulting in a determination that noise associated with leakage of air from the mask is occurring, (ii) the respirator device determines that air is leaking from the mask, or (iii) both (i) and (ii) are present, a speaker is caused to emit a sound to help mask noise associated with leakage of air from the mask.

Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS [0002] This application claims the benefit of and priority to US Provisional Application No. 62 / 868,465, filed June 28, 2019, and US Provisional Application No. 62 / 890,918, filed August 23, 2019, each of which is incorporated by reference in its entirety. into this article. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to the treatment of breathing-related disorders, and more particularly to systems and methods for detecting and mitigating the effects of noise caused by ventilator equipment and components thereof. Background technique [0004] Various systems exist for assisting users experiencing sleep apnea and related breathing disorders. There are a range of breathing disorders that can affect the user. Certain disorders are characterized by specific events (eg, apnea, hypopnea, hyperpnea, or any combination thereof). Examples of breathing disorders include obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), tidal breathing (CSR), ...
