Embodiment Construction

[0226] Referring to the above figures, wherein like features are generally designated by like numerals, a flexible tensioned crash barrier according to the first aspect of the present invention is generally designated by numeral 1 . The present invention also includes end anchors to anchor the end anchors of the crash barrier at either end of the desired length indicated by the numeral 900 . The end anchors 900 are preferably used with the crash barrier 1, or may be used with other known barriers that utilize flexible tensioning members. The combination of the plurality of crash barriers 1 and the end anchors 900 and other auxiliary features forming the barrier is referred to as the crash barrier system 100 .

[0227] In one embodiment now described, such as figure 1 Crash barrier 1 shown. The guardrail 1 generally comprises the following components: a support arrangement 70 , one or more flexible members, preferably straps 20 connected to the support arrangement 70 . The s...

Abstract

A roadside crash barrier is configured to deflect a vehicle deviating from a front road toward a road. The guardrail comprises at least one tensioned flexible belt, and the flexible belt comprises a plane facing the road in use. Compared with a system in the prior art, the possibility that the motorcycle hands are injured is reduced, and meanwhile installation is fast and convenient. Also described herein is a collapsible end anchor for maintaining the tension of the belt, where the end anchor is configured to reduce vehicle rollover if the end of the occurrence of an impact while still maintaining the effectiveness of the maintained road guardrail.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a flexible tensioning anti-collision guardrail. More specifically, but not exclusively, the present invention relates to a crash barrier for roadside use utilizing a flexible strip under tension with a flat surface facing the road. Background technique [0002] Flexible tensioned wire rope barriers have been used as an economical solution for road safety for many years. They are usually used on one side of a road or between lanes. If the off-track vehicle hits the guardrail, the flexible wire rope can redirect the off-track vehicle back to its original lane. For car and truck occupants, the solution reduces the risk of injury from accidental collisions with oncoming vehicles and any vehicle leaving the road. These conventional wire rope guardrails utilize uprights that are configured to disengage or break off near the ground so that the vehicle does not roll over in the event of a collision or impact with the uprights. When...
