Embodiment Construction

[0014] Certain embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods for auditing assets by comparing data (eg, lidar data and field data) captured at different times. These assets can be PTC critical assets related to the rail environment and are audited for PTC compliance.

[0015] Figure 1 to Figure 5 Shows example systems and methods for auditing assets. figure 1 showing an example system for auditing assets, figure 2 Another example system for auditing assets is shown. image 3 Example methods for auditing assets are shown. Figure 4 Example output generated by the audit module is shown. Figure 5 An example computer system that can be used by the systems and methods described herein is shown.

[0016] figure 1 An example system 100 for auditing assets is shown. figure 1 The system 100 includes a network 110 , an audit module 120 , a lidar vehicle 170 and an observer 180 . System 100, or portions thereof, may be associated with an entity, which may in...

Abstract

In an embodiment, a method includes the steps of: receiving first laser detection and ranging (LiDAR) data related to a railway environment; extracting assets from first lidar data related to the railway environment; and superimposing the assets into the spatial model. The method further comprises the steps of: receiving a field indication related to a modification of the railway environment; and modifying the spatial model in response to receiving the live indication associated with the modification of the railway environment. The method further comprises the steps of: receiving second LiDAR data related to the railway environment; and comparing the second LiDAR data with the modified spatial model.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to auditing assets, and more particularly, to an asset auditing system and method. Background technique [0002] Positive train control (PTC) is a communication-based train control system for preventing accidents involving trains. PTC improves the safety of rail traffic by reviewing rail track data. However, the track data used by the PTC system may misrepresent the actual location of railway-related assets, which may negatively impact the performance of the PTC system. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0003] According to an embodiment, a method includes the steps of: receiving first laser detection and ranging (LiDAR) data related to a railway environment; extracting an asset from the first LiDAR data related to the railway environment; and Overlay assets into spatial models. The method further includes the steps of: receiving a field indication related to the modification of the railway environment; and modifyin...
