Problems solved by technology

[0016] Thereby, there arises a problem that when the cover 7 is closed after the ink cartridge 1 is installed on the carriage unit 2, a huge reaction force is generated by the pressure member 5, and since the resistance is quite strong, it is difficult to close the cover, so operability very poor
[0017] At the same time, since the bracket unit 2 needs to have sufficient hardness to overcome this pressure, it is necessary to use a high-hardness material with sufficie

Embodiment Construction

[0054] Now, referring to the accompanying drawings, the described embodiments of the invention will be described below.

[0055] A recording apparatus in the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0056] attached Figure 3A is a cross-sectional view showing the state in which the ink cartridge is mounted on the carriage unit 12, with Figure 3B is an enlarged cross-sectional view showing the attached Figure 3A Middle section II. attached Figure 4 The cradle unit 12 is shown with the lid open. This ink cartridge 11 is an ink cartridge integrally provided with an ink bottle and provided with an ink nozzle 11a at its lower portion and an electrical contact 13 at one side thereof. Between the ink nozzle 11a and the electrical contact 13, a flexible printed board 11b is arranged.

[0057] On the other hand, the carriage unit 12 supports the ink cartridge 11 and makes it attachable and detachable. On the side wall 12a of the c...

Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide a recording apparatus which enables an easy operation of attaching and detaching an ink cartridge and a stable conduction state between an electrical contact thereof and an electrical contact on the side of a carriage unit. The recording apparatus is provided with, in order to securely hold an ink cartridge (11) on a carriage unit (12), a cover (17) disposed on the carriage unit (12) so as to be openable and closable and a spring-like member (20) which causes an energizing force to act on the ink cartridge (11) so that an electrical contact (13) disposed on the ink cartridge (11) is energized and kept in press-contact in a direction opposed to an electrical contact (14) disposed on the carriage unit (12), and constructed so that, by closing the cover (17), the ink cartridge (11) is securely held on the carriage unit (12) and both the electrical contacts (13, 14) are conduction-connected.

Description

technical field [0001] This invention relates to a recording device which performs recording by ejecting ink onto a recording medium, and more particularly, to an ink cartridge or similar mounting structure which can be attached to and detached from an ink cartridge unit down. Background technique [0002] In a recording device printed by ink, such as disclosed in US Patent No. 5,392,063, it is necessary to fix the ink cartridge on the carriage unit and make the electrical contacts therebetween be in a crimped state. Accompanying drawing 1A to 1C and accompanying drawing 2 have shown on the carriage unit 2 of a kind of ink-jet printer (a kind of recording apparatus) the corresponding installation view that attachable and detachable ink cartridge 1 is installed, more specifically , the view shows a state in which an electrical contact 3 arranged on the ink cartridge 1 is electrically connected to an electrical contact 4 arranged on the carriage unit 2 . More specifically, F...
