Abstract

A strapping machine for positioning a strapping material around an associat ed load and sealing the strapping material to itself around the load, includes a modular strapping head and a modular feed assembly. The strapping head and feed assembly are readily installed on and removed from the strapping machine without tool s. The Strapping machine includes a frame, a chute mounted to the frame and definin g a strap path, the feed assembly mounted to the frame by a first aligning and mounting assembly, the strapping head assembly mounted to the frame by a second aligning and mounting assembly independent of the first mounting assembly, and a guide mounted to the frame adjacent the feed assembly. Both the feed assembly and the strapping head are independently removable from the frame.

Description

technical field [0001] Strapping machines are widely used for bundling goods. There are theoretically two types of strappers. One type is manual work that can be done with hand tools, for example, near a construction site. Another type of strap is a fixture in which the strap is formed as part of the overall device. In such strappers, typically the strapping head and drive mechanism are mounted in a frame. Also mounted on the frame is a trough through which the binding material is conveyed. Background of the invention [0002] In a typical stationary strapper, the strapping head is mounted above the work surface, and the trough is located above the work surface and above the strapping head. The strapping material is fed to the strapping head by a set of delivery and take-up wheels. The strapping material is transported through the strapping head by means of the conveyor wheels, around the chute and back to the strapping head. The free end of the...
