[0020] Briefly, a pressure compensated fluid flow control valve or regulator directs high velocity fluid flow through a restrictor of a biased poppet valve, thereby creating a pressure differential across the poppet valve. The force created by the pressure differential moves the biased poppet valve against the biasing device and narrows the inlet or metering area into the valve, thereby reducing the differential pressure across the restrictor. The differential pressure across the restrictor can thus be controlled to maintain a constant liquid flow regardless of the inlet pressure of the fluid delivered to the regulator.
