Embodiment Construction

[0022] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be discussed with reference to the accompanying drawings. figure 1 is a block diagram of the mobile object image monitoring and management device of the present invention. The zoom lens 1 continuously changes its focal length. The electric frustum head 2 is driven by a motor for pan and tilt operations. The CCD camera 3 converts the image taken by the zoom lens 1 into a video signal. The moving object image monitoring management apparatus thus constructed monitors a predetermined area. If the moving target enters the predetermined area, the electric truncated cone head 2 is used to track the moving target. Use the zoom lens 1 to move forward and out of a moving target. The frame grabber 4 receives video signals. The CCD camera converts the image into a video signal, and selectively transfers the video signal to the memory at a later stage. Frame memories 5A and 5B, which are mutually equivalent and arranged i...

Abstract

A moving object monitoring surveillance apparatus that controls a camera using a motorized panhead and a motorized zoom lens to identify correctly a moving object, particularly, a person is disclosed. The apparatus includes a video device acquiring information of the image of a moving object as a video signal, a panhead for panning and tilting the video device, a frame grabber for extracting, frame by frame, a still image from the video signal output from the video device and binarizing the still image into frame data, a plurality of frame memories for alternately storing the binarized frame data, a CPU for controlling the operation of the panhead and for processing the frame data, and an image database for storing the processed data. The video device sequentially monitors at least one single surveillance area. The CPU compares frame data with immediately prior frame data to determine a difference therebetween, tracks coordinates corresponding to the difference if the difference is detected, and detects and expands a particular color.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a moving image monitoring and management device using one or more optical lenses and a solid-state camera (hereinafter referred to as a CCD camera) utilizing a charge-coupled device, in particular to a method of extracting human faces entering the monitoring area so as to capture human faces Image device. Background technique [0002] It is well known to use a CCD camera to monitor a moving object and to record the image of the moving object on a magnetic tape. When using this method, the CCD camera focuses on the moving target with the lens in front of the CCD camera. If the monitoring area is expanded when using a wide-angle lens, the percentage of the moving target area to the entire frame becomes relatively small. If a CCD camera is used to monitor a person, the face of the person is too small, which destroys the clarity of the facial image and makes it difficult to recognize the person. Conversely, if a telephot...
