A method of capturing a focused image of a continuously moving slide / objective arrangement is provided. A frame grabber device is triggered to capture an image of the slide through an objective at a first focus level as the slide continuously moves laterally relative to the objective. Alternatingly with triggering the frame grabber device, the objective is triggered to move to a second focus level after capture of the image of the slide. The objective moves in discrete steps, oscillating between minimum and maximum focus levels. The frame grabber device is triggered at a frequency as the slide continuously moves laterally relative to the objective so multiple images at different focus levels overlap, whereby a slide portion is common to each. The image having the maximum contrast value within overlapping images represents an optimum focus level for the slide portion, and thus the focused image. The system further includes a frame grabber that grabs a video image including at least a portion of the known coded chromokeying pattern and a foreground subject. A perspective transformation computation unit computes a perspective transformation by comparing the video image of the portion of the coded chromokeying pattern with the known chromokeying pattern. The system may further include a background generation unit that receives a background image and applies the perspective transformation to the background image to produce a transformed background. The present invention relates to a free multi-view real time three-dimension reconstructing system and a method thereof. The system consists of a CCD vidicon, a computer assembled with a multi-channel image collecting card and a plane demarcating template. Two concentric circles and eight tangential paths with prolonged lines crossing the circle center are drawn on the center of the plane demarcating template and are used for demarcating the vidicon parameter. In the technical proposal of the present invention, a reconstructing object is fixed at the center of the demarcating template; the template is held by hand to drive the reconstructing object to rotate freely within the range of the view and the depth of field of a vidicon at a fixed position; image collection and object reconstruction are processed synchronously, thereby being capable of finding concentrated missed view in time and displaying reconstruction result in real time. The three-dimension reconstructing method comprises the steps of image segmentation, full-automatic vidicon demarcation and the three-dimension reconstruction of object shape, etc. The three-dimension reconstructing system of the present invention is based on the computer vision technology, and the reconstructing method is based on the profile recovery shape and can realize free multi-view real time three-dimension reconstruction.

The present invention provides systems and methods for monitoring a host computing system from a maintenance computing system located at a remote location. The system of the present invention includes a frame grabber that is connected the digital output of a video controller associated with the host computing system and collects sets of data output in digital form from the video controller independent of an analog to digital converter. Each collected digital data set represents a frame of data displayed on a terminal of the host computing system by the video controller and is stored in a storage device associated with the frame grabber. Successive sets of data are also compared to each other, and the differences between the data are also stored in the storage device. During a maintenance session, a first data set representing the data currently displayed on the terminal of the host computing system is transmitted to the maintenance computing system, and thereafter, only changes between successive data sets are transmitted to update the maintenance computing system.
